Kizlyar DV-2 Ltd Edition Black Z60 Steel Fixed Blade Knife or DV-2 - “Dalnya-Vostorchny Spetsnaz”, an acronym for a special purpose unit within the Russian military, whose operational role mainly encompasses the form of a “mobility troop” type, being LRRP (long range reconnaissance patrol) and counter-insurgency operations.

This DV-2 was designed by the unit and was subsequently made to their specifications. Their requirement was, that their knife should be of the extreme hard use type, able to be used for the majority of tasks associated with living off the land deep behind enemy lines or in a frozen Siberian wasteland.

Kizlyar, handmade knives hail from the small Russian town of Kizlyar. The town has a prestigious weapon manufacturing history that dates back to the 14th century, and is recognized around the world for its fine blades. The selection of knives from Kizlar is favored around the world by hunters, outdoorspeople and many military personnel, both within Russia and Internationally.

This range, particularly the Combat series, have become popular with western military forces, including those of USA, UK and very much so by Australian defence forces.
