About J&V Adventure Knives
Used since the Stone Age, the knife was one of the first instruments made by man, which always accompanied him in all ages and cultures around the world. This tool, despite having undergone evolution in the forms and materials in tandem with technological developments, it is still an essential companion for a variety of everyday activities.
J&V Adventure Knives hail from Albacete, Spain which is famous for knives. Like Sheffield and Toledo it has a long history of finely crafted blades and an assurance of quality. Whilst there are earlier references to local knife making, it is between the end of the 17th century and beginning of the 18th century, when an increasing demand for short, sharp weapons, scissors and folding knives gave rise to this kind of craftsmanship in the city. At the beginning of the 20th century, factories appeared, most of them small, where industrial production techniques were applied. Later, throughout the last century, modernisation advanced and production increased and diversified through several complementary industries like handle making, riveting, leather work and accessories.
Knives manufactured by J&V are classed as handmade production knives, where all the work is done by hand except each models is manufactured in series and batches, hence in a production manner. J&V knives is a fairly niche brand, therefore their range of models is continually expanding, though what they do manufacture is finished to a very high standard. Only the top steel grande and materials are used for the production of the knives and sheaths, such as sourcing their steel from European countries like Germany and Sweden. J&V Knives represent great value for money, if you are a collector or looking for a serious outdoor knife or axe.
